Individual Service Opportunities
At Alpha Epsilon Delta, we’re committed to giving our members meaningful ways to support the Charlotte community. If our scheduled group service events don’t align with your availability or are already full, you can still earn service points by participating in individual volunteer opportunities.
We partner with several local organizations that offer flexible, ongoing service options. Members are welcome to sign up independently or coordinate with other AED students to volunteer together. These collaborations allow you to engage with the community, build professional experience, and contribute to AED’s mission at your own pace.
Jamil Niner Student Pantry
The Jamil Student Niner Pantry is a UNC Charlotte resource dedicated to supporting students facing food insecurity by providing access to nutritious groceries and essential household items. The pantry operates through donations and volunteer assistance. During this service event, volunteers help organize inventory, prepare food distributions, and assist with pantry operations, directly contributing to the well‑being and stability of fellow students in need.
Beds for Kids
Beds for Kids is a Charlotte nonprofit that provides essential home furnishings to children and families transitioning into stable housing. Volunteers assist with preparing and delivering donated beds, dressers, tables, and other foundational items, helping create safe and dignified living environments for families in need.
NC MedAssist
NC MedAssist is a statewide nonprofit that provides free prescription medications and over‑the‑counter health supplies to uninsured and low‑income North Carolinians. Volunteers play a key role in supporting this mission by helping sort, organize, and prepare medication and health products for distribution through the Charlotte warehouse and Mobile Free Pharmacy events across the state.

Second Harvest Food Bank
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina works to fight hunger by providing food and essential grocery items to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity throughout the Charlotte area. Volunteers help support this mission by sorting, inspecting, and packing donated food and other products for distribution to local food pantries, shelters, and community organizations. This opportunity allows AED members to directly support neighbors in need while helping ensure that nutritious food reaches communities across the region.
Trees Charlotte
TreesCharlotte is a local nonprofit dedicated to growing, diversifying, and caring for Charlotte’s tree canopy through community involvement. Volunteers can participate in hands-on opportunities such as planting trees, packing seedlings for distribution, engaging with the community, and caring for trees that have already been planted. This is a great way for AED members to earn service hours while working together outdoors and contributing to a greener, healthier Charlotte.
Crisis Assistance Ministry
Crisis Assistance Ministry is a Charlotte nonprofit that helps individuals and families experiencing financial hardship by providing essential resources and support to help stabilize housing and meet basic needs. Volunteers assist with activities such as sorting and organizing donated clothing and household items, preparing resources for distribution, and supporting other day-to-day operations. This opportunity gives AED members a flexible way to serve the Charlotte community while directly supporting local families in need.
